Handmade Carbon Steel Knives
Hand Forged

Wilderness knives for bushcraft & survival
We forge carbon steel by hand. The knife steel is cut from old, obsolete, damaged lumber mill saw blades. Aki Yamamoto and Scott Richardson have been creating knives in the bush for 30 years. Working art.
A carbon, molybdenum, chromium and nickel steel. Wear resistant, very tough and holds a strong edge.
Forged by hand with a hammer. Hardened using clay for a differential hardness. Toughening the spine and heating for a blue temper, the edge is hard with enough forgiveness not to fail. This steel is tough.
We are powered by the sun and have been since 1997. https://aki-and-scott-fireweed.blogspot.com/2021/12/living-with-solar-power-for-25-years.html
