Unique Survival,
Unique Bushcraft
Wilderness knives
Hand forge carbon steel. The knife and tool patterns are cut from old, obsolete, damaged lumber mill saw blades. Aki Yamamoto and Scott Richardson have been creating knives for 30 years. Working art.
A carbon, molybdenum, chromium and nickel steel. Wear resistant, very tough and holds a strong edge.
Forged by hand with a hammer. Hardened using clay for a differential hardness. Toughening the spine and heating for a blue temper, the edge is hard with enough forgiveness not to fail. The temper is faint. The steel is tough.
We are powered by the sun and have been since 1997. https://aki-and-scott-fireweed.blogspot.com/2021/12/living-with-solar-power-for-25-years.html
