Patinas effectively seal the steel helping to prevent rust. The patinas are subtly manipulated with clay we dig here. The differential hardening with clay and powders create images that reflect the boreal wetlands and the aurora borealis where we live. We harden and then blend tempers. The differential temper keeps the edge hard and strong and the length of the blade tempered tough. We leave the colours and the heat treatment process untouched.
